Week 20 Recap – Exercise 1

Claudia: Max, habíamos acordado que la fiesta de Rodrigo sería en la casa de mis abuelos. ¿Por qué le dijiste a tu familia que será en casa de mis padres? (Max, we agreed that Rodrigo’s party would be at my grandparents’ house. Why did you tell your family it will be at my parents’?)

Maximiliano: Discúlpame amor, había entendido que sería en casa de tus padres. Más tarde les avisaré en el chat de la familia que será en casa de tus abuelos. (I’m sorry honey, I understood it was going to be at your parents’. I’ll tell them later today in the family chat that it’s going to be at your grandparents’.)

Claudia: ¿Puedes recordarle a tu mamá que ella debe llevar los platos desechables? Y ahora que recuerdo, tu tía Magdalena había dicho que ella llevaba el pastel. (Can you remind your mom she has to bring the disposable plates? Now that I remember, your aunt Magdalena said she was going to bring the cake.)

Maximiliano: Sí cielo. Mi tía llevará el pastel, y mi hermana preparará arroz, tacos de pollo y la salsa roja. (That’s right honey. My aunt will bring the cake and my sister will make rice, chicken tacos, and red sauce.)

Claudia: Excelente. ¿Has hablado con tu papá respecto a la piñata? Sé que a él le encantan las manualidades, pero si no le da tiempo de hacer una, creo que sería mejor comprarla lo antes posible. (Excellent. Have you talked to your dad about the piñata? I know he loves crafts, but if he doesn’t have time to make one, I think it would be better to buy one as soon as possible.)

Maximiliano: Sí, ayer por la noche lo hablamos. Ha tenido mucho trabajo estos días, por lo que no podrá hacer la piñata él mismo. Me dijo que él comprará una el fin de semana. (Yes, we talked about it last night. He has had a lot of work these past few days, so he won’t be able to make one himself. He told me he is going to buy one this weekend.)

Claudia: Muy bien. Yo me encargaré de los globos, mi mamá del resto de la comida, y tú de las invitaciones. (Great. I’ll take care of the balloons, my mom will take care of the rest of the food, and you will take care of the invitations.)
