Daniel: ¿Cuándo te pusiste esa meta? Habría sido complicado cumplirla en poco tiempo, ¿no crees? Cumples 30 año el próximo enero. (When did you set that goal? It would have been complicated to accomplish it in a short time, don’t you think? You turn 30 next January.)
Elisa: Me propuse empezar a viajar a mis 19 años, pero la meta la establecí a los 23 años. (I decided to start traveling when I was 19 years old, but I set the goal at 23 years old.)
Daniel: Entonces, ¿has conocido dos países por año? (So, have you been to two countries per year?)
Elisa: Habría sido ideal conocer dos países por años, sin embargo, entre la economía y la pandemia, no pude viajar por casi dos año. (It would have been ideal to go to two countries per year. However, between the economy and the pandemic, I couldn’t travel for almost two years.)
Daniel: ¡Qué bueno que, a pesar de todo, podrás viajar este año! Te acompañaría, pero no tengo en dónde dejar a mis perros. ¿Cuántos países te faltan para llegar a la meta?(I’m glad that despite everything that has happened you will be able to travel this year! I would come with you, but I don’t have anywhere to leave my dogs. How many countries are left for you to reach your goal?)
Elisa: Sólo me faltan cuatro países. Mientras no cierren las fronteras o me cancelen alguno de mis vuelos, lograré el objetivo en tres semanas. (Just four countries. As long as they don’t close the borders or they don’t cancel any of my flights, I’ll reach my goal in three weeks.)
