Are you sick of memorizing so many verb conjugation charts?
Do you feel your anxiety start to creep in at the thought of learning yet another Spanish verb tense?
When you construct a sentence in Spanish, do you find yourself hesitating, unsure of the correct verb form to use?
If you find yourself relating to at least one of the statements above, you’re not alone. One of the topics that continuously wreak havoc to Spanish learners is, you guessed it, verb conjugation.
Sadly, some learners no longer push through with their Spanish lessons because of this. That’s the reason why our team at My Daily Spanish endeavored to create a learning tool that will help Spanish learners get through this issue once and for all.
We created Spanish Verb Drills to help learners like you learn and master Spanish verbs the easiest way possible.
But how does it work? What does it do?
In your own native language you also have verb conjugation, correct? Even before you learned all about it in school, the real reason you don’t have to pause when selecting the correct verb form when speaking is because you have heard it again and again that it becomes second nature to you. You have developed an instinct for it and even without thinking, you immediately know which verb form it is you should use.
Repetition is the key. With the Spanish verb drills, you will be able to form that very same reflex by listening to audio drills. The most useful Spanish verbs are conjugated in commonly used tenses such as the affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms of:
- Presente
- Pretérito imperfecto
- Pretérito perfecto simple
- Futuro simple
- Condicional simple
- Pretérito perfecto compuesto
- Imperativo
You would need to listen to the drills every day--each drill is about 5-6 minutes long so it’s easy to insert into your time. You can listen to the drills on your car when you’re driving, on your commute to and from work, while going on a run, or doing your chores. So convenient regardless of how busy you are!
Remember all those verb conjugation charts you keep memorizing? With the verb drills, you won’t have to anymore. You only need to listen to the audio either hands-free or with your book in hand. By listening to the audio drills which is in an audio flashcards format, you will be able to form an instinct to correctly choose the Spanish verb tense you need to use, with no more hesitation on your part. Just like native speakers do.
It’s not enough to learn Spanish verb conjugation without knowing the grammar behind it. So to help you learn and review Spanish tenses, this book also offers extensive grammar explanations on the following topics:
- Spanish Present Tense
- Future Tense
- Preterite Tense
- Spanish Perfect Tense
- Imperfect Tense
- Spanish Conditional Tense
- Imperative
- Subjunctive Guide
The lessons will help you have a solid grasp of Spanish tenses before you move on to the audio drills.
The audio drills in this book includes 12 of the most useful Spanish verbs, namely: AMAR , TEMER, PARTIR, SER, ESTAR, DORMIR, IR, PEDIR, PODER, HABER, TENER, and JUGAR. These verbs are carefully selected not just because of how frequently they appear in everyday conversations, but also because they can be used as a model for 80% of all Spanish verbs.
In short, you will be able to learn not just the 12 verbs included in this course, but by extension, almost ALL the Spanish verbs that you need to be proficient in Spanish.
In the second part of this course, you will come across the verb conjugation for the 12 Spanish verbs mentioned above. This is the text accompaniment for the drills. Each chapter covers one verb and at the end of each chapter you will be able to practice what you have learned with the quizzes/ exercises.
Does this course sound like something that would help you learn Spanish? It absolutely will. But there’s a catch: you need to fully commit to this learning method for it to work. There is no silver bullet in learning Spanish verb conjugation. You cannot just magically learn it even without putting any diligent effort. But with the help of this book plus your motivation and commitment, you should be on your way to not just learning---but mastering---Spanish verb conjugation.
Best of luck!
